This obsidian edition of the Nike Daybreak Shoes use a combination of suede and heavy duty canvas for the uppers which offers a streamlined look against the low-cut silhouette. Wrapping around the front of the toes and around the back of the heels, suede increases the durability of the design whilst also adding texture, with elongated swoosh ticks on either side of the foot have been cut from dynamic yellow coloured leather. The padded foam tongue is encased by white cotton laces and a woven label wraps around its top edge with stylised ‘Nike’ lettering. On the back of the heel a burgundy suede panel has been added with bold ‘NIKE’ lettering printed on top in yellow. Throughout the inside a white mesh lining has been added for comfort. Exposed at the front and reverse, the black rubber waffle outsole provides quality grip and traction while also adding a definitive feature to the design.

Reintroduced for the first time during its initial debut in 1979, the Nike Daybreak has a rich history as a running shoe and boasts a simple, low-key look. Various colour iterations have been introduced, showing the versatility and possibilities within the silhouette and enhance modernised features whilst not deterring too much from the original OG aesthetic.
